Doubts Before applying to LFX Program

Hey! I just discovered Meshery projects for open source and LFX, and there’s so much to learn. They align well with my interests and tech stack. Also people in this community are active and helping. However, I have a few questions:

  • Is becoming a MeshMate necessary before contributing to ensure better contributions?
  • Do we need to prepare proposals for LFX? If so, where should they be submitted?
  • Can writing contributions also be considered under LFX mentorships?

Hi @Pranjali_Bhardwaj ! I’m glad you’re exploring Meshery and LFX—they really do offer a fantastic learning environment. Here’s what I have regarding your questions:

  1. MeshMate Requirement:
Becoming a MeshMate isn’t strictly required before you start contributing. However, joining the MeshMate program can be very helpful. It’s designed to help new contributors learn the ropes, understand best practices, and get guidance from experienced community members. In short, while not mandatory, it can improve the quality of your contributions and make the onboarding process smoother.

  2. LFX Proposals:
You can check this thread: Slack

  3. Writing Contributions under LFX Mentorship:
Pretty much yes, We run GSoD and had multiple content creating internships open last year and very soon this year as well.
We currently have many topics to be turned into tutorials/blogs/hands-on walkthroughs.a couple of 'em suggested in #blog-kitchen a while ago.

Hope this helps clarify things. Let me know if you have any other questions!
